Cuernavaca is located about 75 km.(50 miles) south of México City,
and is the capital of the state of Morelos. The metropolitan
population is around 600,000, but the city retains its unique character
and flavor of a smaller town. The city is rich in history and it offers a
unique and charming blend of pre-hispanic, colonial and modern México.
Cuernavaca was elected by the Aztec kings as a place for relax and meditation,
the conquer Hernan Cortes also elected the city of Cuernavaca because it´s incredible
climate and built here his palace, "Palacio de Cortes".
Cuernavaca is a favorite spot of people the world over for its historical
interest, its striking scenery, its colorful life, and its delightful
climate. the geography is hilly and the streets are narrow and quaint.
There are a wide variety of activities available, and all services are
present. There is a good city bus system (colectivos) that is relatively
easy to use and is very economical.
Cuernavaca boasts an average year round temperature of 75-80 degrees
and is internationally known as the "City of Eternal Spring".
It is always warm and pleasant in the sun and fresh in the shade. Light,
informal clothing is fine most of the year, although a sweater is nice to
have handy. From June to September, especially in the afternoon and evening,
quick drenching rains are common.
Cuernavaca is truly in the heart of México, and is surrounded by some of the
most beautiful and culturally rich regions of the country. Everything from
the populous México City to 18.000 foot volcanoes are but a short distance
from the heart of the city.
In the state we have Tequesquitengo lake called "the sea of Morelos" , there
you can practice all water sports, boating and fishing, also there are a landing strip
in which you can take a ride in ultra light to flight over the lake or do sky diving (parachute jump).
We also have water springs like "Las Estacas" to swim and scuba dive in crystal clear water rivers.
Centro Bilingue is located in the a quiet residential district of Cuernavaca,
an atmosphere most conducive to study. Landscaped grounds, lots of flowers
and green gardens, fountains, swimming pools and an outdoor patio/cafe
contribute toward it being called "Cuernavaca's most attractive
learning center".
Its proximity to Mexico City allows students to take advantage of the
capital's cultural and historical attractions without the inconveniences
of the "big city".
